The animals spend most of the year in the pastures of the Rila Mountains, only during the harshest winter months, they return to the farm near Petrich. Grazing in their natural habitat builds healthy and strong animals that are rarely diseased and adapted to withstand the weather of the mountains. The main breed of calves raised here is Galloway and the other herd includes the traditional Gray Iskar Cattle.
